The Brazilian Butt Lift is a popular procedure that offers dual benefits, with fat removal from the waist and hips, as well as larger, fuller buttocks with improved shape and definition. This augmentation procedure uses your own fat cells to increase butt volume for a more hourglass figure that fills out your clothing. Dr. Sean Maguire offers Brazilian butt lift in Louisville at Physician’s Center for Beauty.
Why Have a Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian butt lift increases the projection of the buttocks for a curvier silhouette and symmetrical buttock shape. This procedure slims down one area of your body to harvest the fat cells and injects the purified fat into your buttocks. The donor location is typically an area with stubborn fat, such as the lower back, hips, thighs, or abdomen.
Brazilian Butt Lift uses your own tissues to augment the buttocks instead of silicone implants, eliminating some of the risks and providing a more natural-looking result. The fat that remains after injection provides long-term enhancement.
Many women report their clothing fits better after Brazilian Butt Lift and experience a boost in their self-esteem. The procedure allows you to enhance the curves of your lower body while reducing excess fat in troublesome areas. Improve your overall body proportions with the Brazilian butt lift.
Is Brazilian Butt Lift Right for Me?
You must have enough excess body fat to harvest and transfer to your buttocks. Up to 40% of the transferred fat may not survive and is reabsorbed by the body during recovery. Dr. Maguire removes more fat than is necessary and overfills the buttocks to accommodate fat resorption. Buttock implants may be best for women with insufficient fat stores.
Patients must be at least 18 and finished developing, which may not happen until their early 20s. Some women pursue Brazilian Butt Lift after they lose volume in their buttocks due to age, weight loss or childbearing. The Brazilian Butt Lift requires you to be in good physical health, with good skin tone because the procedure does not tighten loose skin.
The recovery process can be challenging. Patients must commit to not sitting or lying on their buttocks for several weeks for maximum fat survival and natural-looking results.
What Does the Procedure Entail?
A Brazilian Butt Lift is typically performed under general anesthesia, but local anesthetic may be an option for a small buttock enhancement. You may be awake for the procedure with local anesthesia.
Dr. Maguire performs liposuction first to harvest the fat . A cannula (thin hollow tube) connected to a suction device is inserted under your skin where fat cells are suctioned from the area. Dr. Maguire may harvest up to 500ccs to be used for each buttock.
The removed fat is purified and injected into the buttocks via a few tiny incisions. The upper portion receives most of the fat for a perky, round contour. Dr. Maguire uses tiny stitches to close the incisions from liposuction and where fat has been placed in the buttocks.
What Is the Recovery Like?
Your buttocks are wrapped with bandages, and a compression garment is used in the liposuction area to reduce swelling and promote healing. Our office will provide recovery instructions to guide you through this process.
Bring a friend or family member with you to drive you home and help you for the first couple of days after your Brazilian Butt Lift. The recovery process is crucial because pressure from sitting or lying down can harm the transferred fat cells. You’ll need to stand up or lay on your stomach or sides. Dr. Maguire recommends taking two weeks off work.
After several weeks, you may sit on a specially designed pillow that distributes your weight and minimizes pressure on the buttocks. Use this pillow for about eight weeks or whenever Dr. Maguire clears you to sit normally. By the three-month mark, the risk of fat resorption decreases, and the remaining fat cells should survive long term. However, your buttock shape may change for up to six months.
A Brazilian Butt Lift result may last many years, but you may need a follow-up treatment as you get older, and your buttocks continue to change with age. Staying at a consistent weight is the best way to maintain results.
